I-5 On-Ramp Closure: The A-Street on-ramp to northbound I-5/southbound SR 7 is closed for bridge construction as part of the I-5 M St to Portland Ave. HOV project.

I-5 Off-Ramp Closure: Exit 133 from Northbound I-5 is closed through September as part of the I-5 M St to Portland Ave. HOV project. Please see the recommended route directions above.

McKinley Way / D Street Overpass Closure - I-5 M St to Portland Ave HOV Project: The McKinley Way / D Street overpass near the Tacoma Dome is closed for approximately 18 months while the I-5 overpass is demolished and rebuilt to accommodate new I-5 HOV lanes. Drivers, pedestrians, and bicyclists will be detoured to Pacific Ave. In addition to detours due to the overpass closure, drivers can also expect periodic lane and ramp closures during the demolition. The Tacoma Dome is located in the heart of Tacoma, Washington on 6.1 acres adjacent to Interstate 5 and just a mile from Hwy 16. The Tacoma Dome has parking lots located around the perimeter of the facility that accommodate 1,600 cars. Parking lots E and K are reserved for guests with disabilities and are van accessible and are sold on a first come first served basis. Lot I is reserved for recreational vehicles. The parking fee for Tacoma Dome events is $10 - $25 per single parking space depending on the event (cash only). All Tacoma Dome lots are wheelchair accessible.


Alternate parking options include parking in downtown Tacoma and taking the Tacoma Link Light Rail (check schedule for hours) or parking in the Pierce Transit / Sound Transit Tacoma Dome Station Garage which is located a few blocks from the Tacoma Dome. Street parking and private pay lots may also be available. For more information on private pay lots near the Tacoma Dome, visit the Dome District's Visitor Info page. Cabs may also be available at the Tacoma Dome taxi drop-off/pick-up area or near Freighthouse Square.

Please know that for large events, Tacoma Dome parking lots will sell out quickly. Plan to arrive early or look into the alternate parking options and carpooling.

There will be no solicitation activities allowed in the parking lots including, but not limited to, distribution of flyers, sale of products, advertising sale of vehicle, etc. The consumption of alcoholic beverages is strictly prohibited in Tacoma Dome parking lots. No tailgate parties or similar activities are allowed.


The Tacoma Link Light Rail connects the Tacoma Dome Station, a regional hub for bus and commuter train service, with downtown Tacoma's museums, restaurants, retail and more. The Tacoma Dome Station is served by Sound Transit, Pierce Transit, and Intercity Transit.
