Event Info
City of Tacoma Fire and Police Departments are holding a Women in Public Safety Informational Session. The informational session/panel will be held on Friday, September 23rd, followed by a hands-on event on Saturday, September 24th, and both will be completely free!
Space is limited to the first 180 people who sign up.
Learn about the Tacoma Fire Department & Tacoma Police Department's recruit programs directly from women in the field.

INFORMATIONAL SESSION:
Friday, September 23rd from 5:30pm - 8:00pm
Join us for a non-formal, open setting to:
- Hear from female leaders with TPD/TFD and the City of Tacoma
- Discuss a career as a female in public safety
- Learn about career advancement within the departments and beyond
- Hear first-hand accounts of what it's like to be a female officer/firefighter
- Understand our hiring process, salaries, and benefits
- Ask questions you might otherwise be hesitant to ask
HANDS-ON EVENT:
Saturday, September 24th from 8:00am -5:00pm
Two sessions: 8:00am - 12:00pm and 1:00pm - 5:00pm
(each session is limited to 90 people)
Attendees will have the opportunity to rotate between stations hosted by both the Police and Fire Departments and will include activities such as pulling hoses, EMS, handling equipment, canine demo, forensics, and the bomb cart/robot, to name a few.
