Tacoma Dome Achieves GBAC STAR™ Accreditation

Following an extremely thorough assessment of the facilities’ readiness for biorisk situations, multiple procedures and practices have been confirmed and established with GBAC’s expert-led guidance. The program certifies that the Tacoma Dome and Greater Tacoma Convention Center have demonstrated compliance with the program’s 20 core elements ranging from standard operating procedures and risk assessment strategies to personal protective equipment, emergency preparedness and response measures. 

“Achieving GBAC accreditation demonstrates and affirms our deep commitment to the health and safety of our guests as one of many protocols undergoing implementation,” stated Tacoma Venues & Events Director Kim Bedier. “Our guests and clients can have every confidence that their safety is always at the forefront of everything we do, and we look forward to the time when we can enthusiastically welcome everyone back." 

The Tacoma Venues & Events team are transforming the guest journey to reduce touchpoints at the Tacoma Dome including upgrades for cleaner air, implementing a clear bag policy and cashless transactions.
