Tacoma Venues & Events Team Recognized with International Award

The International Association of Venue Managers (IAVM) 2019 Venue Industry Award winners were presented at the annual VenueConnect Conference in Chicago, including the Tacoma Venues & Events (TVE) team that operates the Tacoma Dome and the Greater Tacoma Convention Center. Each year, IAVM recognizes venues and individuals who have demonstrated leadership and innovation within the industry. The Tacoma Venues & Events team was recognized by Mayor Victoria Woodards and City Council at the September 24 council meeting.

The Venue Excellence Awards recognize five venues which demonstrate excellence in the management and operation of public assembly venues. Award applicants are acknowledged for their distinction in the management and operations of a venue including: customer satisfaction, operational excellence, safety and security, team building and professional development, and service to the community. A committee of IAVM members chooses the finalists, and winners are approved by the IAVM Board of Directors. Other 2019 award winners included US Bank Stadium (Minneapolis), State Farm Arena (Atlanta) and the Hawaii Convention Center (Honolulu).
